Welcome to Tim Hill Fine Woodworking. We hope you enjoy viewing our collection of hand crafted furniture from Maine.

A little history:Tim Hill opened his furniture shop in 1994 with a primary interest in restoring antique furniture. During this time he was also acting as a resource for the restoration and maintenance of older wooden yachts.  However, over time orders for new furniture designs with traditional joinery grew and the shops focus moved to handle the growing backlog of furniture work.

For the past ten years Tim Hill Fine Woodworking has designed and built furniture for several of New England’s most exclusive homes and businesses. The shop still accommodates specialized needs for the yachting community although hand crafted fine furniture represents the core of the shops offerings.

Tim Hill

Over the years Tim Hill with his team of furniture makers has created dozens of furniture designs which feature full sets of office and home office/library appointments which are available in several wood species. Ninety percent of the materials used in making our furniture are harvested through sustainable growth practices and are FSC certified. Green products are utilized in the building process where ever possible.

Everyone at Tim Hill Fine Woodworking has a passion for wood and respect for the tradition of fine joinery. Personal touch, pride and quality is conveyed in each piece of furniture as they are made by hand and then signed and dated by the maker

.Discussions with Tim in the restoration years:

“Taking things apart is one thing, putting them back together properly, and with care, that’s another.”This is his passion. “There’s a lot of information in the bones of anything old..you can see the inspiration and it becomes part of you if you’re willing.”He attended University of Harford and Graduated from the Hartt Scholl of Music in 1984 with a BA in Music and Composition.“Harmony in any form is really something……. you just know when it’s right”“We’re designing and engineering every day and never stop learning…. Esthetics are critical but peoples needs are what drive the form…it’s up to us to make it look right…. put it together properly….. and have it last forever”And last forever they shall. Every piece has a lifetime guarantee on craftsmanship. We look forward to working with you and sharing what we love
